Botanical Name: Viola Cornuta
How to Plant: Use a free draining soil well integrated with compost or good quality potting mix when growing in pots. Can be planted directly into the spring garden or alternatively raise the seeds indoors or in a mini greenhouse 6-8 weeks before the last frost, and transplant once the cold has past. Slow to germinate, so allow 3-4 weeks and don’t get despondent.
What to Plant In: Wall Garden + Pots + In-ground
Food Use: Tiny flower heads are ideal for decoration, desserts and candying. Can also be used on savoury dishes like seafood and salads.
Flowering Season: Year round in temperate climates.
Spacing: 15cm apart, 5mm deep
Position: Partial to full sun. Doesn’t mind a little cover when conditions are hot.
